GRAPA begins Certification and Standards Activities !

As the GRAPA organization continues to grow, we find that we are finally in the position to begin pursuing the REAL WORK of the organization. Namely, the creation of an environment that can help GRAPA members to improve their workplace, improve their own status in their organizations and help telco management to get the best assistance possible for their revenue assurance needs.

GRAPA's approach to accomplishing all of this will be threefold:

1. Certification

2. Standards

3. Benchmarks

CERTIFICATION

Certification is the process of defining the best way possible to train and validate the experience of professional practitioners of revenue assurance and to make it easy for those professionals to gain recognition for everything they have accomplished. We are currently forming our Certification committee, a committee which will be made up of representatives from service providers of all types and sizes. Representatives from large and small telcos, from wireline, wireless and data/media companies, and from each region of the world will all have a voice.

At the same time, we will include representatives from many of the consulting firms and software companies that supply a lot of the manpower that make revenue assurance projects work.

We have 1,452 members:

Together, this group will be forging a definition of professional roles and criteria for certification in the roles through a combination of experience, training and testing. (Details to be determined by the committees themselves)

STANDARDS

In tandem with the certification activities will be the initiation of our standards committees. These groups will be commissioned with responsibility for defining the KPI's, task lists and assurance activities that define "coverage" within the different domains of RA.

BENCHMARKS

Finally, the benchmark committee will provide the key ingredient that puts it all together. By combining the information from the Certification and Standards groups, the Benchmark committee will publish surveys, asking our over 200 member companies to let us know:

a) How things are being done today

b) How they think things should be done

By combining the efforts of these groups, GRAPA will be able to provide the industry with a badly needed structure and discipline to drive the profession forward.

Does this sound interesting to you?

Would you like to be involved?

That's easy, if you are already a GRAPA member, all you need to do is send an email to carola@grapatel.com and let her know what you are interested in.

Committees are forming now, and there is plenty of need for help, so GET INVOLVED, let your opinions count and participate.
