Professional Perspectives for 2012
2011 was
a banner year for the Revenue Assurance profession.
We saw a tremendous increase in the number of RA
professionals around the world and a significant
expansion in management's understanding of the role
we play in helping the success of the telco. 2012
promises to hold even more growth, expansion, and
surprises.
New Hammerhead Certification Programs to Launch
In response to the demand for more detailed,
specific, and highly focused certification, GRAPA
has initiated the Hammerhead Program Series. Hammerhead certification programs are tightly-focused events that help telecoms professionals apply the GRAPA standards-based approach to specific High-Risk problem areas. Under the Hammerhead initiative, organizations can be provided with focused training and certification in the containment of revenue risks to multiple domains and lines of business including Roaming, GPRS, Mobile Banking, NextGen Wireless, and New Product Development. For individuals looking for this training we also offer this program at a limited number of venue events.
Enhancements to the Fraud Certification program for
2012
As of 2012, GRAPA has certified over 100 telecoms fraud professionals, and we are very proud of those members who have shown such a high level of dedication to their careers. As the organization fraud professionals can turn to for fraud standards and professional credentials, we look forward to a successful year ahead as well.
For this reason, we will continue to develop our Telcom Fraud Analyst Certification in 2012. Several key changes we made to this Fraud Certification program in 2011, and this year we will continue to adjust based on changes in the industry and the evolving needs of fraud teams.
This
Fraud Program, managed by Louis Khor, promises to
provide RA and Fraud Management Professionals with
significant upgrades to their current effectiveness.
New Revenue Assurance Governance Standards for 2012
After five years of research and
development, our standards team is ready to begin
posting new Revenue Assurance Governance standards
for member comment. The Governance Standards focus
on the establishment of industry-standard KPIs for
revenue assurance activity, and they will begin to
establish standard methods for the calculation and
reporting of Revenue at Risk and other key benchmark
numbers for RA professionals. We look forward to the
involvement of many RA professionals in this
important effort.
Standard Controls Publication
In 2012, GRAPA will continue efforts to publish and standardize the GRAPA
Standard Controls list for Revenue Assurance
domains. This standard controls list forms the
backbone of the GRAPA methodology. The publication
of standard controls lists will be one of the most
exciting and challenging endeavors we have faced so
far.
